The amount of the damage is impressive, of the order of 440,000 euros. Two young people aged 18 and 19 belonging to the community of travellers were tried Monday before the criminal court of Rennes for a long series of thefts and damage, reports Ouest-France.

Between October 16 and November 4, the two friends had made seven trips to Ille-et-Vilaine, Loire-Atlantique, Manche and Maine-et-Loire. In particular, they targeted car dealerships to steal Audi or BMW. These large sedans were sometimes used as ramming cars and then set on fire after the breakage.

Many businesses burgled

The two youths had also robbed 28 shotguns in an armory and robbed a tobacconist, a jewelry store as well as garages or garden centers. Tried for a total of forty facts, the two young people, already well known to the justice, were sentenced to three years and eighteen months in prison.

A third alleged accomplice, a minor, will be presented later before the juvenile judge of Nantes.
