At the People's Power convention, which elects the first leadership since the
change of power, candidate Kim Ki-hyun was chosen as the party's leader. The Supreme Council, which selects five members, including one young man, was also elected in large numbers by so-called pro-Yun candidates who are classified as close to the president.

People's Power Candidate Kim Ki-hyun won a majority of the votes and was elected as the new party leader.

It was a landslide victory, more than double the votes of second-place candidate Ahn Cheol-so.

Chen Haram received 1.5% of the vote and Hwang Kyo-an 2.2%.

In his acceptance speech, Kim, who ran with the so-called Yun Sentiment, expressed his ambition to lead the country to a landslide victory in the next general election in the spirit of solidarity, inclusion and prosperity.

[Kim Ki-hyun/Representative of People's Power: I am determined to make all the dedication and sacrifice I can to win next year's general elections.]

The Supreme Committee, which selects five members, including one youth Supreme Committee, also saw a large number of "pro-Yun" candidates.

Candidates Kim Jae-won, Kim Byung-min, Cho Su-jin, and Thae Yong-ho won the Supreme Council seats, while Jang Ye-chan won the election with a landslide of votes.

One day before the one-year anniversary of his presidential victory, President Yoon Seok-yeol visited the convention hall and emphasized the unity of the party by revisiting the ceremony he performed as a candidate.

[President Yoon Seok-yeol: In intra-party elections, there are no winners or losers. We must think only of the people first, the people second, and the people third, and move forward together.]

The formation of a "pro-Yun" leadership from the party leader to the top committee member can be interpreted as a reflection of the party's intention to hold next year's general elections under President Yoon Seok-yeol.

Representative Kim Ki-hyun, whose term begins at the same time as his election, will begin his first party duties by visiting the Memorial Hall tomorrow (14 May) and presiding over a meeting of the Supreme Council.
