More than 50,57 protesters have taken part in protests in several Greek cities since last week's train crash in the Tebi Valley near Larissa, which claimed the lives of 30 people. According to police, 15,<> took to the streets in Athens and another <>,<> in Thessaloniki. Railway and ferry workers, civil servants, doctors and teachers called for a day of strike. The subways worked for a few hours to allow people to reach the demonstration in the capital. State primary schools and public hospitals that operated at reduced capacity closed.

Meanwhile, the judges will hear today the stationmaster of Larissa, the city closest to the accident site, accused of manslaughter. The man admitted, in recent days, that he had made a mistake, specifying that he had directed the train on the wrong track and that he did not realize the error until the moment of the accident. The stationmaster's lawyer may ask for more time to prepare the man's defense.

Tomorrow at 11:00 in Syntagma Square in front of the Parliament, a large demonstration of students and railway workers is planned.
