His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received yesterday at Qasr Al Bahr Majlis the team of the Etihad Rail National Rail Network, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Etihad Rail, which implemented the project.
During the meeting, His Highness exchanged cordial talks with the delegation and listened to their experiences during the work on the project, the challenges they faced and the experiences they gained, praising their efforts over the past five years to complete this vital strategic national project.
His Highness stressed that the expansion of the construction of modern integrated infrastructure in accordance with the highest international standards is a priority to achieve sustainability due to the economic and social dimensions that benefit all residents of the UAE.
His Highness said that our economic system is gaining additional strength through the national railway network and the launch of freight train operations, adding that "we are inaugurating a new phase of the development and prosperity of our country, the well-being of its people and the happiness of all who reside on its good land."
For their part, the delegation expressed their pride and pride in working on this national project, which is a vital economic tributary to the state and an important station in its development process, appreciating the support enjoyed by national cadres who have proven their worth in various sectors of work.

It is noteworthy that the national railway network, which was inaugurated last February, passes through a diverse geographical terrain within a large-scale engineering plan that included the construction of 593 bridges and crossings of all types and nine tunnels with a length of 6.5 km, and took 120 million cubic meters of excavation work to ensure the highest levels of fluidity of vehicle traffic under the tracks of the railway network, and the network extends to about 900 km across the regions of the country. The freight train fleet includes 38 locomotives and more than 1000,<> wagons capable of transporting all types of goods.
