His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, said that the medical and healthcare system in Dubai is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consolidate Dubai's position as a leading global destination in this field, by providing the best capabilities and enhancing its readiness by providing it with advanced health facilities, highly efficient cadres, and highly advanced technologies.
His Highness praised the strategic partnership between the public and private sectors in raising the efficiency of the health sector and enhancing its competitiveness, for the benefit of society, and to ensure the elements that guarantee the health and quality of life of its members, as well as the positive impact of this partnership in its economic part, as the world-class infrastructure constitutes a suitable environment to attract investments in medical facilities and services, as well as upgrading medical tourism rates, and receiving larger numbers of visitors seeking quality medical services.
His Highness made the announcement during his visit to Mirdif Hospital, accompanied by Director General of the Dubai Health Authority Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Chairman of HMS Health and Medical Services Group Sami Al Qamzi, and a number of health sector officials in Dubai.
During his visit to Mirdif Hospital, His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai was briefed on the services provided by the hospital, as well as its capacity of 160 beds, in addition to a group of distinguished healthcare suites, which include 26 intensive care rooms, 70 inpatient rooms, 40 outpatient rooms, four delivery rooms, four advanced operating rooms, and the hospital's medical staff consisting of 45 doctors from various medical specialties, in addition to a large group of technical assistants. His Highness was also briefed on the list of specialties available at the hospital, which include oncology, catheterization and cardiac surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, plastic surgery, urology, nephrology, ear, nose and throat, in addition to emergency medicine. His Highness was introduced to the range of equipment and technologies used in operating rooms and intensive care rooms, and listened to an explanation from specialized doctors about the available treatment methods and developments related to diagnostic and prevention methods.
In addition, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited Barraquer Hospital, one of the oldest Spanish hospitals in the field of eye diseases, which dates back to about 80 years, as it chose Dubai 10 years ago to establish its first branch in the world outside Spain.
The hospital includes 17 diagnostic rooms, 16 day care units, 13 consultation rooms, eight inpatient rooms, eight optometry rooms, and four modern operating rooms, and employs a medical staff of 27 specialized doctors, optometrists, and nursing staff.
During the visit, His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai was briefed on the most important developments in the field of eye health from the specialized doctors working in the hospital, and the quality of medical services and consultations provided by the hospital to patients, especially the services provided to children.
