An unarmed man standing in a bush in military uniform is smoking a cigarette and speaks a few words in the direction of the camera then, suddenly, collapses to the ground riddled with bullets.
Ukrainska Pravda released a shocking video showing the cold-blooded execution of a Ukrainian prisoner by Russian troops filming the scene insulting him.
According to reports from the Ukrainian online newspaper, which cites among the sources the telegram channel of Andriy Yermak, head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, before being shot the victim exclaimed: "Glory to Ukraine".
The identity of the man as well as the place and date when the video was shot are not currently known.
The first to share the video on Twitter was activist Serhiy Sternenko: "Another war crime by the Russians. A Ukrainian soldier was captured. After he said 'Glory to Ukraine,' the Russians shot him and filmed him on video."
"Killing a prisoner is another Russian war crime. It is an element of a targeted policy of terror disguised as Kremlin propaganda with myths about 'Nazis'. There will be punishment for every war crime. We'll find everyone." This is the comment of Andriy Yermak on the video of the cold-blooded killing.
"The killing of a captured Ukrainian soldier is a violation of the Geneva Conventions. It is a display of baseness and pettiness," said Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Ombudsman, in reaction to the video in which a Ukrainian prisoner is shot for saying "Glory to Ukraine". Russia will have to answer for any war crime committed, Lubinets said.
The Russian Telegram channel ЧТД questions the footage claiming that "there are no identifying marks and gallons on the uniform" of the soldier.
