By 2030, the EU's industrial capacity should be able to meet at least 40% of Europe's annual demand for solar panels, 85% for wind technology, 60% for heat pumps, 85% for batteries and 50% for electrolysers.

These are the stable objectives in the draft, seen by ANSA, of the Net-Zero industrial plan of the European Union, whose presentation is expected on March 14. In the text, Brussels sets production targets for green technologies considered key to decarbonizing the continental economy and thus moving the Union away from dependence on third countries such as China.

Net-Zero means a lifestyle that involves reducing the amount of greenhouse gases (GHG) or offsetting its production, "Zero carbon" instead means not releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
