Yes, in a few moments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will officially announce a solution to compensate for the victims of forced mobilization in Japan.

It has been about four years since the Supreme Court's 3 ruling that Japanese war crime companies should compensate victims of forced mobilization in the country.

It seems that Foreign Minister Park Jin will make the announcement himself.

At the heart of the government's final draft is the third-party reimbursement scheme formalized at a public forum two months ago.

The Japan Foundation for Victims of Forced Mobilization, affiliated with the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, collects money and pays judgments to victims on behalf of Japanese defendant companies.

It is reported that domestic companies such as POSCO, which benefited from the 2018 Japan-Korea Claims Agreement, will contribute donations, but Japanese war crimes companies such as Nippon Steel and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will reportedly not pay to the Victim Support Foundation.

However, it seems that the National Federation of Businessmen and the Japan Federation of Economic Organizations will reveal plans to raise other funds with a forward-looking purpose.

The government is reportedly urging the so-called "sincere response" of Japanese defendant companies to voluntarily participate in the fund for the future of the two countries.

However, some victims and victim support groups strongly oppose the government's solution, arguing that it absolves Japanese defendants of their responsibilities, and conflicts are likely to continue even after the government's solution is announced.
