Ryssbergstomten Nils, or Fredrik Nilsson as he is actually called, is Blekinge's only "real" Santa Claus.

This year, he has had the honor of being invited to Sweden's tomtegille's annual meeting, where the members of the non-profit association gather to discuss various elf-related issues.

First on the schedule was to let the elves visit the children at Storlekplatsen.

- We thought that we must meet the children in my area when we are here.

Basically, being an elf is about pleasing others.

That's what we live on, he says.

One of the most important issues that will be discussed at the annual meeting is the shortage of plots.

- We are getting fewer and fewer, so there is a real shortage of Santas.

We need to bring in more.
