The Brazilian singer-songwriter Roberto Carlos, known as the 'king' of the romantic ballad and who at almost 82 years of age is still very active in his professional career, will release a new album in Spanish.

With a career that spans more than six decades, Roberto Carlos is recognized around the world for hits such as "El cacharrito", "Un gato en la oscuridad", "Cóncavo y Convexo", "Amada amante" and "I just want to " (A million friends).

The Brazilian artist announced the new album during a press conference in Rio de Janeiro on Friday night, after resuming his season of shows "Emotions on the High Seas" that he performs every year on a cruise along the Brazilian coast and from which he had to deprive themselves in 2021 and 2022 due to the covid-19 pandemic.

"I have several songs to record, I'm going to go into the studio right now, I want to make a new album in Spanish, because I haven't done anything in that language for a long time,"

he assured.

The multiple Grammy winner did not specify if the release of his new production will be this year, but he said that by 2023 "he wants to do many things" and announced that he already has four songs recorded and "ready", although he does not know whether to publish them all together or separately.

The most recent production in Spanish by Roberto Carlos was "Amor sin límite", released in 2018, with ten unpublished songs by him and which includes the single "Esa mujer", composed by the Puerto Rican Kany García especially for the Roberto Carlos duet. and the Spanish Alejandro Sanz.

The Brazilian singer-songwriter, who will turn 82 on April 19, also said that he is in a loving relationship: "but I'm not going to say who he is. Not yet. Everything in due time," he said with a laugh.

Likewise, in the meeting with the press, the artist explained the exercise routines he performs to keep fit, his diet and the aesthetic procedures he has resorted to for vanity.

"I do a little physical exercise, weights and a stationary bike to strengthen. I did not let my hair fall out and I have already had six hair transplants," he said.

According to the artist, as soon as he begins to notice the lack of hair, he undergoes a transplant and even said that he used hair from his chest for the procedure.

"For now I don't think I need to do it anymore," he added.

The Brazilian singer-songwriter also said that he hasn't had plastic surgery for about ten years, but he indicated that he had "two stretches in the neck."

Regarding his diet, he explained that after 30 years he is no longer a vegetarian and now eats everything "but with a lot of balance and in a healthy way."
