The meeting in Abu Dhabi between the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, received at the presidential palace. The Italian delegation also included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, and the CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Eni and Adnoc, the local national energy company, will sign a cooperation agreement covering multiple areas of the energy transition. The signing of two agreements at institutional level is also planned: a declaration of intent on the strategic partnership, and a declaration on enhanced cooperation in the context of COP28.
In the talks, in which Minister Tajani also participates, there was also an invitation to press Moscow for peace in Ukraine.
