In Estonia, approximately 100,000 women have a higher education than men.

The female population is also in the majority, which could give women the decisive votes in the parliamentary elections on 5 March.

At the same time, there are other factors that have upset previous voter patterns.

The war in Ukraine is one such factor that, among other things, makes it difficult to know how the large minority of Russian-speaking Estonians will vote, says the Estonian journalist Raul Rebane:
