Decisive fight against illegal immigration and departures from countries of origin, to be implemented with a strengthening of bilateral relations and with a strengthening of repatriations. These are the points that emerge, according to rumors, from the summit of the Med5 countries, which includes Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Malta and Spain, which was held today in Malta. The summit would therefore have resulted in full unity on the various aspects of the issue of migrants.

And, on the episode of the shipwreck of Cutro, the condolences of all the Med5 countries have reached Italy, according to which – also in light of what happened – it is necessary to avoid illegal departures. These are the main causes that lead to these events.

According to the Med5 countries, "all efforts must be made to prevent irregular immigration", the aim is "to prevent the loss of lives by avoiding irregular departures and speculation by traffickers on the migrants themselves".
