We are far from the madness that seizes Dunkirk, Granville or Nice. In Rennes, the tradition of carnival is not too much in the genes. For several years, the crazy collective Mardi Gras Jour Férié still set the mood in the streets of downtown with zany and committed slogans and Mad Max-style recycled floats. After three years of absence due to Covid, the carnival is back in the Breton capital on Saturday afternoon with the Pulse association which will be at the helm of this stroll announced "festive and musical."

Before parading in the historic center, carnival goers will meet at 15pm Place Sainte-Melaine before joining Place de la Mairie and Place Sainte-Anne. The joyful troupe will be accompanied in music by five local percussion orchestras that will thrill the crowd to Brazilian and Caribbean rhythms.

At the maneuver during the previous editions, the collective L'Elaboratoire will also be part of the party with customized bikes, stilt walkers and street criers. At the same time, a carnival reserved more specifically for children will take place in the Alphonse Guérin district with a kick-off of the parade that will be given at 14:45 place Odette Séveur.
