The anti-SUV collective The Tyre Extinguishers has once again acted in Lyon. This time, it is in the district of Ainay, in the 2nd arrondissement, that environmental activists have deflated a dozen SUV-type vehicles, said the members of the collective to 20 Minutes confirming information from Lyon Mag.
"We are acting to create safe streets because politicians do not," they added. Thus, they want to draw attention to a new study by the International Energy Agency published this week and entitled: "While their sales continue to rise, global CO2 emissions from SUVs are approaching one billion tons".
In their first action in October, the activists targeted 14 SUV cars in the Confluence district. For these actions of civil disobedience, they risk up to two years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros.
