A U.S. special warfare aircraft that had never been to South Korea flew in from the continental United States to train with
our military. Since it is an exercise to infiltrate enemy lines and destroy key facilities, it has not been disclosed until now, but this time the military authorities have come forward to explain it in detail.

Reporter Hong Young-jae covered the reason.

A U.S. Air Force ground attack aircraft AC-130J flying over the
Yellow Sea drops three precision-guided weapons on the ground.

As you hit the target accurately, white smoke rises.

The aircraft is equipped with precision-guided weapons such as the Hellfire and Griffin missiles, as well as a 105mm howitzer.

When you fire a flash to avoid tracking a missile, it looks like it has spread its wings, hence the nickname "Angel of Death."

[Former Special Operations Commander: There's really no hell in the right position because it hits you accurately from a very high altitude. When this plane flies, the Taliban and people like that can't act.]

This is the first time this ground attack aircraft has come to South Korea, and it is reported that it flew straight from Florida in the United States to participate in a teak knife exercise.

This is to check the performance of the mission to be carried out on the Korean Peninsula in case of emergency.

Exercise Teak Knife has been an annual exercise since the '90s, but it was often closed because of the sensitive operation of Special Forces personnel infiltrating enemy lines and destroying key facilities.

However, the military unusually released specific details of the exercises, and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff visited the site for the first time in 20 years to clarify the warning message against North Korea.

[Lee Sung-joon/Director of Public Affairs at the Joint Chiefs of Staff: In response to the recent increase in the threat of North Korean provocations, Chairman Kim Sung-yum visited the site and gave encouragement.]

The United States and South Korea are set to launch the Freedom Shield joint exercise, which includes a live mobilization exercise in the middle of this month, further escalating military tensions.
