According to TASS, the French leader said this on the eve of his visit to the African continent.

“France intends to move to a new model of military partnership in Africa, the joint management of its bases together with the countries of the continent,” he stated.

Macron specified that the new model implies, among other things, the reduction of the French contingent on the continent, as well as the involvement of local military.

In January, it became known that France had received a demand to withdraw troops from Burkina Faso.
