In detail, the branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Russian region of Kamchatka reported an earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale, south of the territory of the region, adding in a statement that no material or human damage was recorded.

The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center said that an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 struck central Turkey yesterday, explaining that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.

According to the Turkish government, 20 million people were affected by the aftermath of the earthquake, while the United Nations estimated that 8.8 million people were affected in Syria.

The representative of the United Nations Development Program in Turkey, Louisa Fenton, said that the mountains of rubble are unprecedented, while the Turkish government confirmed the collapse or severe damage of more than 173,11 buildings in <> provinces, while in Syria the northwest of the country is damaged.

Turkish authorities have begun efforts to rebuild collapsed houses, tenders and contracts for a few projects, stressing that there will be no compromise in safety standards.

Turkey has also issued new regulations allowing companies and charitable organizations to build housing and workplaces donated to the Ministry of Environment and Urban Development to be delivered to those in need, and many survivors have left Turkey's quake-hit southern region and some have set up tents, container houses and other government-sponsored shelters.
