The People's Power, which will elect the party's leadership early
next month, continues to debate allegations of land speculation in Ulsan by party leader Kim Ki-hyun. When the MDP raised suspicions, Congressman Kim Ki-hyun held a press conference today (23rd) to seek an explanation, and our reporters visited the site.

Reporter Ahn Hee-jae contributed to this report.

When < reporter>

rival candidates and even the MDP raised allegations of land speculation in Ulsan, candidate Kim Ki-hyun sought an urgent explanation.

He claimed that the 1,800-fold market price difference theory and the alleged change in the Ulsan Station connection road plan were all fake news, and that they were issues that the MDP government could not take issue with.

[Kim Ki-hyun/People's Power Representative Candidate: Have you seen a landowner asking for a tunnel to be drilled under his land? Can you make such nonsense when you say that the price of land has increased 1,800 times when a tunnel is being drilled under the ground?]

Despite the clarification conference, the rival candidates went on the offensive.

[Ahn Cheol-so/People's Power Representative Candidate: There was a change of government because we couldn't give votes to Lee Jae-myung. If Kim Ki-hyun, who has real estate suspicions, becomes the representative, will he be able to get the people's votes properly?]

[Hwang Kyo-an/People's Power Representative Candidate: This is not a situation that can be solved by excuses. I will say it without any basis. I have inspected the site many times.]

The reporter visited Kim's land, which is a 5-minute drive from KTX Ulsan Station.

There is no paved road from the entrance, and it is narrow and difficult to access by ordinary cars.

Residents saw 3~3,5 won for 10.25㎡ as a reasonable price because the area is a protected water source that cannot be developed.

Candidate Kim claims that he bought the land in this area 2 years ago for about 3 million won, and considering the land area, it is calculated to be about 3,5 won on average for 700.3 square meters.

[Kim Heon-gil/Villager: Right now (per 3.10㎡) no one can buy it for 10,1 won. What will we do for this 39,<> won.]

I've also been to the part where it looks like an underground tunnel will penetrate.

According to the Ulsan City plan, it is about <>km in a straight line from the starting point of the tunnel, so it is not directly connected to the tunnel entrance.

[Park Eul-lak/Village Lee Jang: If you come from KTX Station, there is probably only a small part of the ground that passes through here, and everything goes underground.]

[Lee Joon-suk/Former People's Power CEO: I'm <> years old now, and I don't think it's easy to explain why I needed it at that age.

While Kim has threatened legal action against further allegations, rival candidates and the Democratic Party are tracking the process of purchasing the site, so the truth battle is likely to continue.
