America: We are ready to urgently negotiate with Russia on the START treaty

US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland announced Washington's readiness as of tomorrow to start negotiations with Russia on the START treaty and mutual inspections of nuclear sites in the two countries.

"The United States considers the suspension of the agreement irresponsible," she said, adding: "The United States and Russia have a great responsibility to the entire world in maintaining nuclear security globally and we have to do our job."

"The United States is ready to return to negotiations to ensure that START 3 is implemented from the beginning."

It is noteworthy that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced last Tuesday in his speech to the Federal Assembly, Russia's suspension of its commitment to the START treaty concluded with Washington to limit strategic offensive nuclear weapons.
