Novelty in the course of the Paris Marathon 2023. On April 2nd, participants will still compete at the 42.195 km in the most beautiful city in the world but on a new route. The departure is from the Champs-Elysées with the first kilometers offering as a show the Place de la Concorde, the Opera Garnier, the Louvre Museum, the City Hall and the Opera Bastille.
Then, the runners make an incursion into the Bois de Vincennes before a new tourist offer Notre-Dame, Musée d'Orsay, Grand Palais and Eiffel Tower. A second wooded part will await them in the Bois de Boulogne. Previously, marathoners will have walked along the Roland-Garros stadium and the Auteuil racecourse.
Unprecedented last kilometres
The new one will be at the 38th kilometer at the exit of the Bois de Boulogne with a new route to join the finish line on Avenue Foch. On the program the Trocadero, Place Victor-Hugo, Porte Dauphine. "Spectators and supporters will be able to take advantage of this new route to more easily see their favorites pass by several times," say the organizers.
