President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, discussed the fraternal relations between the two countries and the development of various aspects of cooperation, especially with regard to development, peace and stability efforts in Somalia.
This came during a meeting with the Somali President at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2023), which is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed the Somali president's visit to the UAE and reviewed the level of bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.
His Highness stressed the UAE's keenness to support everything that is in the interest of the brotherly Somali people and achieves their aspirations for peace, development and prosperity, and the President toured a number of pavilions of companies and national and international bodies, and exchanged talks with their representatives on their most prominent exhibits and their latest innovations from the defense and military industries and their productions of advanced defense technological systems, wishing success to all UAE guests participating in the exhibition from around the world.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received yesterday Indonesian Defence Minister Frabowo Subianto, who heads his country's delegation to the 16th International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2023).
During the meeting, which took place at the Sea Palace Majlis in Abu Dhabi, the President conveyed the greetings of President Joko Widodo of Indonesia and his wishes for further progress and prosperity to the UAE, while His Highness conveyed his greetings to the Indonesian President, wishing Indonesia and its friendly people continued development and prosperity.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the distinguished strategic relations between the two countries and aspects of joint cooperation, especially in the fields and defense affairs, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.
The meeting also touched on IDEX 2023 and the importance of the opportunities it provides to build partnerships between international companies specialized in the defense industry sector to serve security, stability and peace in the world, in addition to the development witnessed in each of its sessions at the level of organization, participation and accompanying events.
• Mohamed bin Zayed affirmed the UAE's keenness to support the interest of the Somali people to achieve their aspirations for peace, development and prosperity.
