Ukrainian refugees are entitled to daily allowance from the Swedish Migration Agency.

At most, they can get 71 kroner a day, which is barely enough for food.

Now several aid organizations are raising the alarm that the compensation is too low.

Yana Marchenko is one of those who fled Ukraine.

She is grateful for the help she received from Stadsmissionen.

- They didn't just give us food and shelter.

They also gave us help and listened to us, she says.

Today, Yana works for Stadsmissionen and she is happy to be able to help others.

- I am very happy to be in a place like this where Ukrainian refugees can get free lunch and breakfast.

Alexander Walker is unit manager for the City Mission's Ukrainian operations, where the refugees receive help with writing CVs, among other things.

- Many Ukrainian refugees have to spend a lot of time getting food, they may have to walk long walks to different food deliveries, because they cannot afford to take the tram or shop in regular shops, says Alexander Walker.
