The moment when a magnitude 7.8 earthquake swept down entire apartment buildings in the Turkish city of Diyarbakir on Monday, February 6, was captured by CCTV cameras.

The powerful earthquake struck before dawn in southeastern Turkey and parts of Syria, and was followed by aftershocks in the early afternoon.

Security footage released by the Diyarbakir Police Department on Sunday (December 12) shows trembling buildings before some collapsed into rubble within seconds, with people fleeing the streets.
