Jorge Messi recalled that his son "has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain" and claimed he has "not spoken" with Blaugrana president Joan Laporta.
At 35, the seven-time Ballon d'Or must decide what his future will be made of, a few weeks after finally reaching the grail of a coronation at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
"We are in discussion (for a contract extension, editor's note). I cannot hide that, I would like to have him in this project, so that he can continue with us", declared the football adviser of the Parisian club Luis Campos in an interview with Téléfoot magazine broadcast on February 5 by the French channel TF1.
"I would be delighted if he continues, but we are talking at the moment to try to get to the goal, to continue to have Leo Messi with us," added Campos.
Messi joined Paris in 2021, for two seasons (plus one optional), after spending his entire professional career with FC Barcelona.
