The property owners GFR handle the rent negotiations for a number of private landlords.

Since there are different landlords, the increases look a little different, but all rent increases apply from March 1.

- Despite the difficult negotiation situation, we have managed to reach an agreement and protect the negotiation system.

It also feels positive that there will be no retroactive rent increase, I know it can be tough for many, says Angelica Karlsson, negotiator for the Southeast Region Tenants' Association in a press release.

Strongly increased costs behind the increase

For an apartment with hot rent, the increase will be 4.05-4.2 percent.

In apartments with cold rent, the rent is increased by 2.05 percent and for apartments with cold rent where hot and cold water is included, the increase is 2.2 percent.

Initially, the Property Owners demanded an increase of 9.55 percent from January 1.

- Such a high increase would have been disastrous for many tenants.

The main reason why we agreed to this increase is so that landlords can cope with the increased costs in society.

At the same time, it should not only be the tenants who foot the bill, there must be a balance, says Angelica Karlsson.
