A nephew who assaulted his uncle with a blunt object to death was caught by the police.

The Suwon Southern Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced today (13th) that it is arresting and investigating Mr. A, in his 60s, on suspicion of murder.

Mr. A is suspected of recently assaulting and killing his uncle, Mr. B, in his 70s, who lives with him in a rental house in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, with a blunt object.

After the crime, Mr. A was found to have wrapped Mr. B's body in a blanket and left it on the veranda.

The police responded to the scene on the afternoon of the 7th after receiving a report from Mr. B's son, saying, "I can hear my cell phone ringing from inside the house, but my father is not answering the call." They responded jointly with the fire department and forcibly opened the locked door and let people inside. The body of Mr. B was found.

Then, Mr. A, who was in his room inside his house, was urgently arrested.

The police confirmed that Mr. B's last phone call was on the 31st of last month, and believe that Mr. A committed the crime between that day and the past 7 days.

It was discovered that they, who were uncle and nephew, had been living together in a rental house under Mr. B's name for about 30 years.

During the police investigation, Mr. A was reported to have spoken gibberish, including stating that his uncle, Mr. B, was a "person I do not know."

It was discovered that he had been diagnosed with mental illness in the past.

The police plan to hand over the case to the prosecution as soon as the investigation is completed.
