Police officers in the Pyrénées-Orientales have intercepted three motorists in three days, suspected of refusing to comply, they report on their Facebook page. The three suspects, aged 20, 26 and 28, will soon have to explain themselves in court.

The series of arrests began in the middle of the night on Saturday. Police asked a driver to stop, but he allegedly accelerated. They then used a device that allows a tire to be punctured: the motorist continued on his way for a few hundred meters flat before stopping. He reportedly fled on foot, before being intercepted. He is also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

All are suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol

Same scenario on Sunday, always at night. A motorist is suspected of refusing to stop despite police orders. They used the same device as the day before, forcing him to give up his escape. He is also suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as with an unextended driver's licence.

Finally, a last motorist was intercepted on Monday, still during the night. The man, who allegedly approached a roundabout at high speed with his tires screeching, is accused of refusing to stop. He was eventually arrested. He also allegedly drove under the influence of alcohol.
