A man in his 70s who killed his brother-in-law after a dispute over his deceased brother's property has been caught by police.

The Gwangju Mine Police Station announced today (70st) that it has arrested a man in his 21s on suspicion of assaulting his brother-in-law to death (assault manslaughter, etc.) and is investigating.

Mr. A is suspected of beating his brother-in-law, Mr. B, in his 80s, to death in a single-family house in the mining district around noon the previous day.

Mr. B's son found his mother lying at home after work and called the police.

After being taken to the hospital, Mr. B was diagnosed with a suspected cerebral hemorrhage and eventually died during treatment.

As a result of the police investigation, it was found that Mr. A committed the crime after arguing with Mr. B over the disposal of the property left by his brother, who had recently died.

Based on nearby CCTV, the police confirmed that Mr. A had visited Mr. B's house before and after the time of the crime, and arrested Mr. A urgently.

Mr. A is said to be denying the allegations of assault.

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A and to determine the exact circumstances of Mr. B's death through an autopsy.
