The fall was as spectacular as it was noisy. And, miraculously, there were no injuries. Wednesday, around 17:45 p.m., a service crane came off the very large gantry (that's its name) of the Chantiers de l'Atlantique, falling with a crash about 80 m below. Located on the banks of the Loire, this huge red and white lifting machine, which dominates part of the city of Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), is used to move the very heavy blocks of boats under construction. The crane that fell was overhanging his beam and was used for maintenance.

The Chantiers de l'Atlantique, which confirms the incident revealed by Ouest-France, evokes "unknown reasons at this time". An internal investigation has been opened to try to understand what happened. The very large portico has been made safe. Nevertheless, activity continues on the second high gantry at the disposal of the shipbuilder.

On Tuesday, Chantiers de l'Atlantique organized the cutting ceremony of the first sheet metal of the Luminara, the third super yacht of the owner Ritz-Carlton. Capable of carrying 448 passengers, this luxury ship will be delivered in 2025.
