Abu Dhabi will soon host the Middle East premiere of the new installment of the world's renowned Mission Impossible film series.

Abu Dhabi has seen a number of key scenes shot at the new Abu Dhabi International Airport Terminal and Liwa Desert, marking the second time she has been selected to shoot scenes from the world-famous 'Mission Impossible' series.

The screening will witness a celebration in the presence of the film's cast, led by Tom Cruise and the director of the international series Christopher McQuarie, at Emirates Palace on June 26.

Scenes and parts of the new film were shot on set selected by Paramount Pictures, which was centered in the Liwa Desert with its distinctive atmosphere and natural features, and the iconic new Abu Dhabi International Airport Terminal, with the support of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission of the Creative Media Authority - Abu Dhabi.

The scenes included the construction of an Arabian village in the heart of the desert, as well as several filming locations in the new Abu Dhabi International Airport terminal.

This is the second time Abu Dhabi has been selected to shoot scenes from Mission Impossible, following the successful experience of filming the skydiving scene in the successful 2018 film Mission Impossible: Falling.

Hayley Atwell, Boom Clementiff and Simon Page will join Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarie for the film's Middle East premiere.

Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Acting Director General of the Creative Media Commission, said: "Hosting the premiere of the film is a recognition of the emirate's position as one of the best film and television locations in the MENA region, and we are proud to work again with this world-class series, which is the most famous action film ever, and confirms the advantages that Abu Dhabi has that international filmmakers need to produce mega cinematic works."

The successful filming of parts of Mission Impossible: The Fall in Abu Dhabi was enough to attract Paramount Pictures and collaborate with the Abu Dhabi Film Commission once again to help it shoot key scenes from the new part of the global series, this time choosing the new Abu Dhabi International Airport Terminal and the Liwa Desert, with its captivating scenery that added a richer touch to the film's scenes.

The production company received a 30% cashback from the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, supported by a number of Abu Dhabi-based companies and specialist suppliers, and employed 125 independent Emirati imaging experts and 250 national secondary actors.

•26 January The film will be screened at Emirates Palace.

Work at the height of the pandemic

Filming of Mission Impossible: The Dead Account Inc. began filming in Abu Dhabi in 2021, after more than a year of planning, and continued filming for more than 15 days at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and did not stop thanks to the prevention protocols put in place by the committee in Abu Dhabi. In addition to building filming locations amidst the majestic sand dunes of the Liwa Desert, the team also filmed on the highest roof of the new 742,180-square-metre Abu Dhabi International Airport Building, the world's largest independent airport building, with giant arches spanning <> metres.

Khalfan Al Mazrouei:

"We are proud to be working again with this global series, which is the most popular action movie of all time."
