Prosecutors are focusing on the time when former special prosecutor Park Young-so served as chairman of the board of directors of Woori Bank.

In March 2015, Woori Bank decided to boycott the Seongnam Uijang Consortium, which included private operators in Daejang-dong, after considering participating as a funder.

There was dissent from within, but it didn't completely get out of hand.

He said he would participate in the PF loan to finance the Daejang-dong project, and issued a letter of intent to borrow 3 billion won.

Because of this, the Seongnam courtyard consortium received a near-perfect score in the 'financing' section of the evaluation of private operators.

Prosecutors believe that Park, who was chairman of the board at the time, was instrumental in this process.

Kim Man-bae and other Daejang-dong business owners made statements to the prosecution to the effect that "in November 1, former special prosecutor Park demanded a ransom worth 500 billion won in exchange for leading to equity investment in Woori Bank."

Since then, when the Woori Bank investment fell apart and Park's role was limited to issuing a letter of intent for credit, the prosecution believes that the amount of compensation was reduced from 2014 billion won to 11 billion won.

Park's former special prosecutor's office has denied the allegations all along, but the prosecutor's office, which has called and investigated former Woori Bank executives and vice presidents one after another, will soon investigate former special prosecutor Yang Jae-sik, who has been named as Park's closest associate and accomplice.

He plans to summon the former special prosecutor in the next week or so.

Park's investigation is the third since the 200 billion club controversy erupted, and the first since the change of the investigative team.

Prosecutors reportedly plan to seek an arrest warrant after an investigation.
