There are four of them again: Actress Kim Cattrall will appear in the "Sex and the City" sequel, according to American media reports. As the industry magazine "Variety" reports, Cattrall will appear in the series "And Just Like That" in her infamous role as Samantha Jones. Cattrall is considered to be at odds with the other three leading actresses, but especially with series star Sarah Jessica Parker.

According to "Variety", Cattrall appears in only one scene. The telephone dialogue is said to have already been turned off – without Cattrall having met the other actresses or even speaking to them. In "And Just Like That", Samantha Jones has moved to London and has become estranged from the other three protagonists. In the first season, text messages between Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) and Jones are shown, in the last episode of the second season, the two women are said to be talking on the phone and planning a meeting.

Cattrall: I found out about the series via social media

Fans of the HBO classic "Sex and the City" had been disappointed at the start of the series of "And Just Like That" that the makers did not bring Kim Cattrall on board. Her role as Samantha Jones is legendary: Jones is a self-confident, sex-loving, unmarried and childless single woman who is primarily looking for good sexual intercourse in New York. Her erotic adventures and revealing nature were always the highlight of the show for many fans.

When "And Just Like That" came out, Kim Cattrall stated in an interview that the series was "about as creative" as the idea for the movie "Sex and the City 3," which she didn't want to star in and hasn't been released yet. She was never asked for the reboot of the series, so she found out about it "like everyone else" via social media.

Sarah Jessica Parker later confirmed this. "She's been clear that this isn't something she wants to do." Cattrall was not fired, but listened to her and learned from it. In 2017, Cattrall had stated that she had never been friends with the other "Sex and the City" actresses. In a conversation with Piers Morgan, she explained that Sarah Jessica Parker, in particular, could have been "nicer." "I don't know what their problem is."
