A 40-year-old parent who kicked a pregnant school principal in the stomach for refusing to refund school fees has been sentenced to prison.

According to legal circles yesterday (31st), Suwon District Law Criminal Division 16 (Judge Jung Seung-hwa) sentenced Ms. A, a woman in her 40s who was brought to trial on charges of injury, to six months in prison.

Ms. A is accused of assaulting Ms. B, a pregnant director, by kicking her in the stomach, grabbing her by the hair and shaking her, at a cram school in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, at around 6:7 p.m. on July 29 last year.

At that time, Mr. A committed the crime because Mr. B did not refund the school fees, which resulted in Mr. B needing 7 days of hospital treatment.

The tribunal, which examined the case, concluded that "the victim suffered substantial physical injury as a result of this incident. "Considering the fact that Mr. A admitted to committing the crime but did not show a sincere attitude of remorse, such as claiming that the victim was responsible for the crime, and that he had a history of being punished for the same criminal offense, a prison sentence is inevitable."

However, the reason for sentencing was that "Mr. A admitted to the crime and considered the fact that the injuries suffered by the victim were relatively insignificant."
