Tourists who were stranded in Guam due to the closure of the
airport in the aftermath of the super typhoon have been entering the country since last night (29th). A total of 2,5 people are expected to return home by today.

Last night, Terminal 1 of Incheon International Airport.

After Guam's local airport reopens, the first flight to South Korea arrives safely, and tourists emerge from the arrivals hall one by one.

[Seok Hee-so/Guam traveler: The generator was stopped, so I had to walk up and down the stairs to the 18th floor... I wanted to keep coming back to Korea, and it's just as good.]

Eleven members of a large family left for Guam together, but the family that had returned first was reunited. [Kim Yeon/Guam Traveler: I feel a lot of guilt as the person who asked me to go on the trip, and I think it's all because of me that (my mother) is sick.



The pregnant woman, who must have struggled even more during the isolation, breathed a sigh of relief.

A total of 11 flights entered the country from Guam between last night and this morning.

So far, about 3,11 of the stranded tourists have returned home.

Still, some tourists have reportedly been anxious locally because they have not been assigned a return flight, and domestic airlines will deploy 2 more flights by tomorrow to bring the remaining tourists home one after the other.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs dispatched six members of the Rapid Response Team to Guam to assist with departure procedures and emergency patient response.
