The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) confirmed that it will continue to support various knowledge activities, participate in all major knowledge exhibitions and events, and present initiatives and projects that support knowledge in all its aspects, noting the success of its participation in the 32nd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which was held from 22 to 28 January at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The event provided an opportunity for the Foundation to communicate with the leaders of the knowledge and creative fields, in addition to sharing its pioneering projects and initiatives in the field of knowledge and its multiple contributions in this field, as it hosted in its pavilion a variety of knowledge events aimed at enhancing knowledge awareness among the public, and providing a supportive ground for knowledge dialogue in various places.

Through its events, which were organized with the participation of many writers, intellectuals and experts concerned with the fields of knowledge dissemination and production, the Foundation sought to enhance knowledge mobility and human capital development, by making the most of visitors and attendees.

The Foundation also took advantage of its participation in this important knowledge event by shedding light on the policies and mechanisms followed in the Arab knowledge sector, discussing the prospects of knowledge fields and foreseeing the future, in order to support ideas and innovations that establish knowledge societies based on education, research, development and entrepreneurship. The Foundation's events, discussion and dialogue sessions received remarkable interaction from the public.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, Executive Director of the Foundation, said: "The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is an important knowledge platform at the regional and global levels, and we are keen to participate in this exhibition as it attracts leaders of the publishing industry and the most prominent writers and thinkers in the region and the world."

He added: "We had the opportunity during the exhibition to showcase our knowledge initiatives and activities, and we confirmed that we will continue to work on developing strategic plans aimed at supporting the development and sustainability of knowledge. We will also continue to develop knowledge projects, initiatives and programs that aim to improve the knowledge, literary and intellectual aspects, thus contributing to building a better future for all."

The activities of the sixth day of the exhibition witnessed the honoring of Jamal bin Huwaireb, coordinators of "Knowledge Break" for the success of their role and contributions in spreading knowledge.

He also honored the Director of Obeikan Publishing and Translation Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Al-Fraih, in recognition of the company's efforts and contributions to the dissemination of knowledge.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation also organized, as part of the "Knowledge Break", a session on children's storytelling with the writer Lama Andre, in addition to the session "The Sung Poem Ambassador of Language", with the artist Carmen Tokmehji, and the media session was moderated by Alia Al Mansoori.

The Foundation's booth also witnessed a session on the impact of the Dubai International Writing Programme on the writer's career.

On the last day of the exhibition, as part of the "Knowledge Break", the Foundation organized a session entitled: "How do I write a review about a book I love?" (Writing Book Reviews Workshop for Young People) with Zainab Al-Qaisi in cooperation with Naqsh platform, in addition to discussing the book "The Other Ego", with the writer Maha Gargash. A tour was also held with the lounge members to record a book review in a minute, and post it on social media.

Visits

The Mohammed bin Rashid Knowledge Foundation's pavilion during Abu Dhabi Book 2023 witnessed a series of visits by high-level delegations from several departments and institutions, in addition to many prominent personalities and visitors, to learn about the Foundation's publications and various knowledge projects. During these visits, the Foundation's team gave a detailed explanation of the nature of its work, and the services it provides that enhance the dissemination of knowledge regionally and globally.
