A young Egyptian man was attacked in the center of Milan by other peers who first kicked and punched him and then wounded him with a crock of bottle and a knife.

The 18-year-old was transported to the S. Gerardo hospital in Monza but would not be in danger of life. The episode happened yesterday around 19.30 pm in via Fratelli Castiglioni, near Piazza Gae Aulenti, but was reported today by the Carabinieri who investigate.

The aggression, probably born as a result of a quarrel, created moments of fear among the people who at that time crowded the area, one of the most famous 'movide' towns.

According to initial information, the 18-year-old was injured by two boys in particular, also North African, who were part of a larger group between 13 and 20 years old. The young man was rescued by 118 and transported in red code to the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, in serious condition but, at the moment, not in danger of life.

The Carabinieri found on the spot and seized the knife allegedly used for the wounding, and - reads a note - are "examining the video surveillance images of the area and acquiring witness statements to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the facts and define their responsibilities".
