THE ESSENTIALS

  • The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival ends this Saturday, May 27. A total of 21 films are in the running for the Palme d'Or, seven of which are directed by women, something never seen before.
  • These films are decided this Saturday by a nine-member jury chaired by Ruben Östlund, winner of his second Palme d'Or in 2022 for "Without a filter".
  • Well received by the press and festival-goers "Perfect days" by Wim Wenders and "The Zone Of Interest" by Jonathan Glazer seem slightly favorites, but the competition is very open this year.

18:55 pm: Tonight is the big night in Cannes

Yes, that's right, it's my birthday. But above all, it is soon time for the winners. Around 20:40 p.m., will Chiara Mastroianni stoically resume her role as mistress of ceremonies after the horrors poured on her daughter by social networks? Ruben Ostlund's jury will award at least seven prizes (out of 21 films in competition), including the coveted Palme d'Or.

Remember that no film can receive two awards. Festival-goers have several favorites. Will they be heard? Response at the end of the ceremony. Until then, I suggest you read the ideal list of our film journalist Caroline Vié and stay with us for the climb of the steps.
