What happened at Cambodia Hospital of the Future?

SBS' "I Want to Know" (hereinafter referred to as "GR"), which was broadcast on the 27th, traced the suspicions surrounding Seo Se-won's death with the subtitle "The Chairman's Suspicious Hospital - The Truth About Seo Se-won's Death Case."

On April 20, news broke of the death of Mr. Seo Se-won, who reigned as the MC of the people in the past. He disappeared in 2014 in the assault case of his wife, Seo Jung-hee, and has since East Sea been active as a pastor and businessman in Cambodia before dying.

However, the day after Mr. Suh's death, an Internet news agency reported that a vial of the psychotropic drug propofol and a syringe believed to have been injected were found at the hospital where Mr. Suh died, which raised suspicions about Mr. Suh's death.

The investigating agency said that none of the items collected from the hospital were related to propofol, and claimed that the nurse who gave him the injection on the day of Mr. Suh's death injected him with vitamins and sodium chloride fluids, as well as two vials of propofol.

As a result, Mr. Seo's bereaved family requested a blood test and an autopsy of Mr. Seo, but they said that they could not proceed due to the poor conditions, so Mr. Seo's body was hastily cremated. And on the day of the funeral, the former president of the Korean American Association of Cambodia made an incomprehensible remark not to raise further questions about the costume, which caused the bereaved family members to express their mixed feelings.

Accordingly, the production team who covered the incident in earnest met with numerous informants. He also said that all the informants knew about this hospital, but they were afraid to tell the truth, and they were told not to believe anyone.

And Mr. Park, the former president of the Korean American Association who told the mysterious story at Mr. Seo's funeral, said he was being threatened. He also drew attention by claiming that when he arrived at the scene on the day of the incident, there was no vial of propofol.

During the interview, the production team confirmed that on the day of the incident, Mr. Seo had stopped by a pharmacy in Gyomin. And the owner of the pharmacy explained that he had paid for the credit along with the payment of the Ringer's fluid. In addition, he claimed that the rumors that Mr. Suh had bought propofol were not true, and that it was difficult to buy propofol at the pharmacy.

However, as a result, propofol was easily available in Cambodia, and the price of one bottle was about $12, which was enough to buy two bottles before Mr. Xu's purchase.

The nurse who gave him the injection before his death claimed that she had come to the hospital for an interview on the day of the incident and that she had given the injection because she thought it was a test. He said there were Mr. Suh, Mr. Kim, and three other Cambodian employees at the scene at the time. He also said that in the treatment room where the injection was given to Mr. Seo, he, Mr. Seo, and the driver were together as interpreters.

And the nurse said, "The driver explained that the white vial was a sleeping pill and that Mr. Suh injected him two or three times a week. I looked at my arm and there was a real injection site."

However, the anesthesiologist said that in order to inject two bottles of propofol with the syringe that the nurse claimed to have used, it would take ten shots, and that "the death would have been noticed before the 10th injection."

The forensic pathologist explained that propofol, even in moderate doses, can cause respiratory arrest and hypotension, and sleep can usually be induced in 100 millimeters. He also said that a small amount of medicine could lead to a dangerous situation without expert observation, and that the amount of medicine claimed by the nurse was too dangerous.

There is a suspicion that Mr. Seo was killed by someone's death. The nurse said she gave a verbatim statement to the Cambodian police after the incident. And after that, it turned out that he had been released without any punishment or follow-up, which caused some to wonder.

Therefore, the production team went to him after an investigation to find out what kind of person the nurse was. However, her husband became hostile and kicked the reporter away, making it impossible to talk further.

Afterwards, the production team met with an interpreter who was on site at the time. The day of the incident he remembers was different from what the nurse claimed. He claimed that after the interview, Mr. Seo went to the treatment room with a nurse to do a test, and Mr. Kim went out with the driver. He added that there was no other person in the room who was in charge of interpreting.

Kim also said he didn't understand the nurse's claim that the driver was present at the treatment room, but added that CCTV footage showed him having a brief conversation between his driver and the nurse in the parking lot. He said it was impossible to release CCTV footage on the day of the incident, saying that the footage was managed by people who live around the hospital and belonged to them.

An informant said that the first thing he spotted was Bopa, and that he didn't touch anyone here. And an acquaintance of Mr. Suh drew attention by claiming that no one here wanted a proper investigation.

Who is Bopha, who was still present at the scene and at the funeral home on the day of Mr. Seo's death? According to the report, he was the nephew of Prime Minister Hun Sen, the most powerful person in Cambodia, and was a member of a royal family whose mother and father were both nobles. He was also in charge of human resources at the hospital in question, Mirae Hospital,

and the owner of the building of the hospital was known as the husband of Prime Minister Hun Sen's sister and the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs of Cambodia.

In response, the production team asked Bofar about Mr. Suh's case. He then said that Mr. Suh's case was closed and that he did not know anything about him. And when he asked Bopha about his family, he didn't go any further.

Afterwards, the production team asked the police about Mr. Xu's case, but they told them to go to a higher authority. And the higher authorities avoided answering immediately, which caused regret.

In addition, a high-ranking official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said, "The case documents are in the Prosecutor's Committee. Be careful when presenting the details of the case. The case is not simple. I've been talking a lot with the prosecution."

In addition, the embassy said that Mr. Suh's case was related to personal information and could not be disclosed unless it was a bereaved family, but it turned out that even the bereaved family members did not know the details of the case.

"I think one of the important parts is who is trying to cover up the truth of the incident and why. Who would be most disadvantaged if the truth were revealed?" He pointed out.

Ms. Park, a former Korean president, singled out the ex-husband of the sister of Prime Minister Hun Sen, the owner of the hospital, and Mr. Lee, who was called "Mr. Chairman" among Koreans after the hospital opened. And the informants were shocked to learn that Mr. Suh was not alone in his death at the hospital.

The hospital, which opened in August 2019, was packed with dignitaries on the day of the opening ceremony. However, since then, there have been vicious rumors surrounding the hospital. Three South Koreans were killed. And one of the deceased was Mr. Baek, who took over the hospital last year and died less than three months after preparing to open it. In addition, the first person to discover Mr. Baek's death was Mr. Kim, who ran the hospital with Mr. Seo. He said of Mr. Baek's death, "I wrote in the optometry book that it was a suicide.

Writing like that means that all the bereaved families have acknowledged it normally."

However, Mr. Baek's son, who met with the production team, said that he was also curious about the reason for his father's death. Nevertheless, when asked why he accepted that the body was cremated and that it was a suicide, he candidly said, "If the truth was that it was a murder, I was afraid that my family would be harmed by digging it up."

He wanted to remarry his young wife and rejuvenate, so he received stem cell injections at the hospital at the urging of Chairman Lee. However, contrary to his wishes, his health deteriorated and he died,

and the hospital's claimed cause of death, a complication of diabetes, caused a shocking resemblance to Mr. Seo's death.

Chairman Lee, who has promoted stem cells and immune cells as the main subjects of treatment since the hospital's opening. He even signed cooperation agreements with related companies to start his business.

Chairman Lee received investments by touting his position as close to Cambodian tycoons, but the operation of the hospital did not go as planned, as there were no doctors or clients. In the process, there were many victims who only listened to Chairman Lee's words and invested and were harmed.

Chairman Lee was actually a man with a criminal record who was sentenced to two years and six months in prison for defrauding Prime Minister Hun Sen of his friendship. And one victim who allegedly scammed him alleged that he even committed the crime of setting up a dispute with his brother-in-law, a Cambodian police chief, to arrest him with whom he had a dispute of interest.

A future hospital that is still speculated to be closely related to Chairman Lee. But Kim said Lee had nothing to do with the hospital. However, in December last year, Mr. Suh was caught mentioning Chairman Lee in a video of his last sermon, so it seemed unlikely that Chairman Lee had anything to do with the incident.

"The reason for the neglect of the incidents in Cambodia is based on the idea that we should not touch their hearts and do anything that could damage their relations. As it stands now, the Republic of Korea will inevitably become a shameful country," he said, lamenting the current situation.

Lastly, the broadcast was shocked by the existence of a large number of Korean brokers who are connecting Korean investment victims with high-ranking Cambodian officials through this interview. And if no real effort is made to uncover the truth, a South Korean who faces a mysterious death in Cambodia has drawn attention by warning that Mr. Seo may not be the last.
