Three minutes of horror: Shortly before the landing of an Asiana Airlines flight, a passenger apparently opened the emergency exit at an altitude of more than 200 meters, which led to stormy winds in the cabin. Videos recorded by people on board and shared on social media show fierce winds blowing through passengers' hair and clinging to their armrests.
According to the Korean airline, the plane landed safely and all of the 200 people on board survived. According to the local fire department, nine people had to be hospitalized due to hyperventilation. The passenger, who is suspected of opening the door, was detained by the police. The motive is still unclear.
The Airbus A321 flew from the Korean resort island of Jeju to Daegu, a city about 240 kilometers south of Seoul. Among the 194 passengers were also schoolchildren who wanted to participate in sports competitions in Daegu.
