After two concerts by ex-"Pink Floyd" musician Roger Waters in Berlin, the police are investigating the 79-year-old on suspicion of incitement to hatred. His stage clothes could have given the impression of an SS-like uniform, said a police spokesman on Friday, the Evangelical press service. He thus confirmed corresponding media reports.

Pictures from May 17 show that Waters wore, among other things, a black, long leather coat and a red bandage with crossed hammers on a white background on his left upper arm, it said. The police are investigating whether Waters' stage clothes may have violated the dignity of victims of National Socialism or glorified or justified Nazi rule.

The musician has long been accused of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic statements, among other things. Among other things, Waters is said to support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, which advocates a boycott of Israel.
