The door of an Asiana Airlines flight departing Jeju Airport bound for Daegu has raised a number of questions regarding the accident that opened just before landing.

The doors of a typical airliner are designed to be opened and exited quickly from the inside in case of an emergency.

It can be opened by pulling the lever and there is no separate lock.

This is because, in an emergency, such as an emergency landing of an airliner on the surface of the water or a fire on board, a passenger sitting on the side of the door must be able to open the door and induce other passengers to evacuate.

At altitudes above 1,305 feet, about 2 meters, the air pressure difference inside and outside the aircraft prevents the doors from opening, but at altitudes below that, it is not physically impossible to open the doors even if you are flying, according to the aviation industry.

The Asiana Airlines passenger plane with the doors open was flying low at an altitude of about 30 meters before landing, and it is estimated that it would not have been difficult to open the doors given the reduced pressure difference between the inside and outside of the aircraft.

An official from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport said, "It is possible that the door was slightly opened at first, but it was opened wide due to the strong wind received during landing," adding, "It is understood that it is not due to a defect in the aircraft, and the exact circumstances are being confirmed."

It is also questionable whether the cabin crew acted appropriately when the passenger opened the door.

When the door opened, a male passenger in his <>s was sitting in the seat next to the emergency exit door.

At the time, flight attendants were reportedly waiting to land on the other side of the corridor with seat belts on, and when the passenger tried to open the door, they rushed over to him, but it was not enough to stop him.

The accident airliner was a small aircraft, and unlike larger aircraft, there were not crews stationed at all entrances.

The Ministry of Land Affairs dispatched flight and maintenance supervisors to the site of Daegu Airport and is conducting an investigation together with the police.
