Prosecutors believe that Kang Rae-gu, a former auditor of the Water Resources Corporation, played a key role in distributing a total of 9 million won in envelopes of money during last year's Democratic National Convention.

At that time, while acting as a "non-election" in charge of candidate Song Young-gil's camp, he was involved in the delivery of 400 envelopes of money containing 300 million won to active members of the MDP, and 20 and 50 envelopes of 28,40 won to the regional headquarters director and the regional situation room director, respectively.

Prosecutors said they believe that all 20 envelopes of money handed to Kang for the purpose of providing lawmakers at the request of Rep. Yoon Kwan Suk were delivered to lawmakers.

If there are no cases of so-called "delivery accidents" and revenge of money received, there could be as many as 20 MPs who received envelopes of money.

As the prosecution has actually identified the people who received the envelopes of money and is conducting a supplementary investigation into the specific circumstances, it seems that the investigation of the active members of the "recipient group" will be carried out in the near future.

The prosecution explained in Kang's indictment that he did not directly name Song Young-gil as a conspirator, but that he did write down some of the roles he played in receiving reports and directing the camp's activities at the time.

He said that in addition to the 9 million won in the envelope of money, there were additional illegal funds, and that they were continuing to investigate the "Institute for Eating and Living Problems," an organization outside of Mr. Song, and the operator of the call center at the Gyeongseon camp at the time.

The request for consent to the arrest of lawmakers Yoon Kwan-seok and Lee Sung-man, for whom arrest warrants were previously sought, will be submitted to the National Assembly and reported to the plenary session on the 400th.
