Beyoncé wrote a message addressed to Turner on her website. "My beloved queen. I love you forever," she begins the message, continuing: "I am so grateful for your inspiration and for all the ways that you have paved the way. You are strength and resilience. You are the symbol of power and passion. We are all so fortunate to have witnessed your kindness and beautiful spirit that will forever remain. Thank you for all you've done."

Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger mourns his artisi colleague on Twitter, writing: "I am so saddened by the passing of my wonderful friend Tina Turner. She helped me so much when I was young and I will never forget her."

"Shocked. Distressed."

Even artist Diana Ross has posted a memorial post dedicated to Turner: "Shocked. Sad. We send our condolences to Tina Turner's family and loved ones."

Former Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams comments on the Instagram post reporting on the star's death: "You have meant so much to us. Rest in peace."

"Incredibly powerful singer"

Swedish artists also remember the star. Carola Häggkvist praises Tina Turner's sense of rhythm and writes that no one can surpass her vocal delivery in a post on Instagram

Guitarist Jojje Wadenius played on the song "Something beautiful remains" which is included on Turner's 1996 album "Wildest dreams". He describes Tina Turner as an "incredibly powerful singer, who managed to get out of a relationship with a violent psychopath, and then found her own form", in an email to Kulturnyheterna.

Hard rock band Ghost, who recently released a cover of Tina Turner's Mad Max song "We don't need another hero (Thunderdome)," posted a picture of the star on Instagram with the greeting "Rest in eternal loving peace."
