Police who said they would take a tough line against the KCTU rally have begun training to respond to rallies nationwide for the first time in six years. As a result of our investigation, it has been confirmed that there are also plans to operate a team dedicated to arrests at the scene.

This is an exclusive report by reporter Sa Gong Sung-geun.

This is footage of a riot rally response drill released by
the police.

The roles were divided between the police on the left and the rally participants on the right.

They even play rally songs and continue their real-life drills, and when a rally participant in a red vest crosses the barricade, the police rush in and arrest him.

The police will conduct training in 6 units across the country until the 14th of next month, and the National Police Agency plans to personally check the progress of the training.

The police have established a policy that if any violations are found at the rally site in the future, they will be arrested as active criminals, and through this exercise, they have decided to create an arrest task force in some mobile units.

A senior police official said, "We plan to operate a specialized arrest unit to respond to the situation at the scene lawfully and safely."

Police summoned union officials for violating the Gypsy Act after the rally in response to last week's construction union's "homeless rally" in the city center, and said they would take immediate action on the spot.

In a post posted on the internal network of the police today (131th), National Police Commissioner Yoon Hee-keun said, "If there is a problem due to active law enforcement, we will immediately indemnify you without disciplinary demand," and encouraged strict response.

The construction union criticized it as a suppression of freedom of assembly and demonstration, a right for all.

[One/Lawyer: Even if it is difficult to clearly determine whether the law has been violated on the spot, the arrest of the current offender may be misused.]

There are also complaints from the front line of the police that the poor response of the command staff is being shifted to the on-site responsibility.
