A man in his 40s who was scammed by a charter in
Michu Hall, Incheon, was found dead today (24th). Amid criticism that victim support measures are still insufficient, four victims of charter fraud have died in the space of three months.

Mr. A, in his 4s, was found in a car parked on a street in
Michuhol-gu, Incheon, at around 40:10 a.m. today.

About 20 minutes ago, the police, who had received a report from a colleague at the company, launched a search, and Mr. A was dead at the time of discovery.

Mr. A was a victim who signed an apartment charter contract with Mr. Nam Mo, a builder who carried out a large-scale charter fraud in the Michuhol-gu area of Incheon.

He signed a contract with the barge landlord, Mr. Park Mo, for 30 million won, but as the house was auctioned, it was reported that he could not receive 6 million won in addition to the 500 million won in the first reimbursement.

A note was also found at the scene, but the details are unknown.

The police are confirming the specific circumstances of death with Mr. A's bereaved family.

In February, the first victim of a charter scam deceived by Nam's gang was found dead, and the death toll in the case has risen to four in the three months.

Earlier, the Task Force on Victims of Charter Fraud said yesterday that the "Special Law on Charter Fraud" prepared by the political bloc was half-measured, and planned to submit a signature to the National Assembly's Civil Affairs Office asking for measures such as increasing the scope of victim recognition.

A standoff ensued for more than an hour as police closed the main gate and pulled them onto the sidewalk in the process.
