Ten cars were ravaged by fire in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in Elne, a town in the Pyrénées-Orientales located a dozen kilometers southeast of Perpignan. Two others were damaged.

Firefighters were called three times, for three different fire starts during the night. The arsonist(s) proceeded with the same modus operandi, setting fire to a vehicle. The flames then spread to cars parked nearby.

According to France Bleu Roussillon, a man was arrested by the gendarmes deployed on the scene. This man, who does not live in Elne, was found in possession of a lighter.
