There are 105 school complexes affected by the effects of the flood, 150 thousand students involved. The decree law with the measures for the emergency after the floods in Emilia Romagna and Marche, approved yesterday by the Council of Ministers, provides for various actions to deal with the emergency: ad hoc high school exams, 20 million euros to ensure educational continuity, funds for the purchase of PCs to children who do not have them, provision for the restoration of the dad, distance learning, remote lessons and exams also for university students, 3 and a half million for restoration of damaged universities.

The Minister of Education and Merit Valditara: "It is necessary to guarantee educational continuity and the restoration of activities. A help desk dedicated to schools in the areas affected by the flood has been activated". Yesterday's Council of Ministers accepted the minister's proposal to include measures to support educational institutions affected by the flood in Emilia Romagna. "As we promised, we have obtained an allocation to address the first emergencies of the school system. A fund for direct interventions of 20 million euros has been established", said Minister Valditara. The resources are aimed at supporting schools in the acquisition of assets to ensure the smooth conclusion of the school year. Rules for simplification will be introduced as provided for interventions of extreme urgency.

The Minister of the University Anna Maria Bernini. Despite the flood "graduations do not stop", said the minister speaking to Zapping on Radio1. "We tried first of all to put both the university and the conservatories and the academies in a position to continue working - he explained - even if students may not be able to physically get to the teaching places due to infrastructure problems. Then distance learning has resumed, again distance exams. Everything that has been put in place for the Covid emergency, we are trying to learn from experience, which has proven to work". "Degrees cannot be postponed and can be done remotely" but, he added, we have also put in place social shock absorbers, pre-selling two solidarity funds, one for university and one for higher education. We have already received appeals rightly from the Academy of Conservatives precisely because if connections are envisaged, the means to connect must also be provided. Among other things, funds from the ministry are available to buy tablets to be given on loan for use to students ".
