In the midst of controversy related to the show LOL: who laughs, comes out, and the fat remuneration awarded to participating celebrities, Virginie Efira, who was on the poster of season 3, relies on honesty. As a reminder, Blanche Gardin had announced on April 20 to have refused the sum of 200,000 euros to integrate the set for a day.

A position that impressed Virginie Efira but not to the point of questioning her participation in the show. "When I saw Blanche Gardin's letter, I said to myself: 'Already she is much funnier, in addition, she has much more virtue!' ", she told the Parisian.

"But what we do with our money, it's up to us. We cannot race for purity: cinema is also an industry, with large groups... If you're looking for radicalism, it's complex," adds the actress who is pregnant with her second child and who presented Love and the Forests out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

Humor test

No regrets, therefore, for Virginie Efira, who however indicated: "The only thing is that I told myself that I had been presumptuous to believe that I could be comfortable there. I can have humor when I'm asked not to be funny, but if there's an obligation to be, I'm not very funny. »

And to conclude: "It's true that it was extremely well paid, I also thought it would be fun to be with François Damiens, Jonathan Cohen, Leïla [Bekhti]. And then, when I found myself there, I thought what am I stuck-bar! »

L'Amour et les Forêts, a film about domestic violence by Valérie Donzelli, starring Virginie Efira and Melvil Poupaud, will be released on May 24.
