A 46-year-old man, a religion teacher and with positions in the religious field, was reached by a precautionary measure issued by the Tivoli Public Prosecutor's Office for sexual violence against four boys aged between 10 and 15, all male. Violence, as explained in a note by the Prosecutor of Tivoli, Francesco Menditto, went on for years.

As shown by the precautionary order, the suspect "after having created a relationship of trust and friendship with minors and their parents - writes the prosecutor in a note - is seriously suspected of having committed sexual violence, especially taking advantage of trips organized together with educational associations also of a religious nature, of which he was a member". Proven abuses may be just the tip of the iceberg. For this reason, the Tivoli prosecutor's office is planning a press conference to give resonance to the investigation and "collect any reports regarding similar facts or in similar contexts, under the competence of this Prosecutor's Office, in consideration of the repetition of violence in different placesand against more minors and the fact that the investigations showed that the victims or their parents had confided in each other or had reported various behaviors without these emerging, also for a climate of substantial distrust towards the victims ".
